Meet DataCore at Cebit 2016; Preview DataCore Parallel Server Plans and Performance

DataCore at CeBIT 2016, Virtualisation, Security & Storage Forum Hall 2, Booth A38

At CeBIT 2016 (March 14-18), DataCore is represented at the Virtualisation, Security & Storage Forum (Hall 2, Stand A38) and within the Huawei booth (Hall 2, Stand B54).

Previews DataCore Parallel Server Plans and Publishes New Performance Results

DataCore, the Data Infrastructure Software Company and leader in Parallel Powered Software-Defined Storage and Hyper-converged Virtual SAN solutions, will preview their plans for a new software solution, DataCore™ Parallel Server, available early this summer. DataCore’s first server-optimised software product has already been benchmarked and has taken the record for the fastest response times ever measured on the industry standard SPC-1 Benchmark. In addition, DataCore will also inform visitors about further enhancements to its parallel powered Software-defined Storage platforms - SANsymphony™ and DataCore™ Hyper-Converged Virtual SAN. DataCore is developing Hyper-Converged solutions and reference architectures alongside their partnerships and co-operations with server vendors such as Huawei, Fujitsu and Lenovo.

The hot CeBIT topic on Stand A38, Hall 2, is anticipated to be understanding exactly how DataCore achieved its new world record for price-performance results using the industry’s most recognized storage benchmark, the Storage Performance Council’s SPC-1. Thanks to breakthroughs in its parallel I/O software that harnesses the untapped power of multi-core processors, this achievement places DataCore with an audited SPC-1 Price-Performance™ of $0.08 per SPC-1 IOPS™ making it the clear-cut leader in SPC-1 Price-Performance™ overall. With 0.32 milliseconds DataCore also recorded the fastest response times ever attained; even compared to all-flash arrays and multi-million dollar name brand systems that have published SPC-1 results. The new server-optimised DataCore Parallel Server will top these results further still and is now being evaluated by select partners and the product launch is planned for early this summer.

"Parallel-I/O truly revolutionizes the way how companies achieve high performance at low cost using standard hardware. The time of monolithic storage systems is definitely over and the server is becoming the new storage. At CeBIT 2016 we will preview our software plans and a new DataCore Parallel Server software product that will revolutionize multicore servers with parallel I/O technology. Our groundbreaking Parallel-I/O technology for servers, storage and hyper-converged systems opens new markets for us and positions DataCore as a true Data Infrastructure Software Company", says Stefan of Dreusche, Director Central Europe at DataCore.

DataCore’s innovative software enables adaptive parallel I/O processing across multiple CPU cores, reducing I/O latency significantly compared to serial processing solutions. Enterprise applications with I/O-intensive workloads such as databases, OLTP or ERP systems and real-time applications like SAP HANA, Oracle and Microsoft SQL benefit from faster response times, while hyper-converged systems can be configured extremely cost-efficiently with a higher density of virtual machines. DataCore parallel I/O software in effect enables hyper-consolidation by being able to do the work of many machines on a single server by removing the I/O bottlenecks and harnessing the aggregate power of many multicore CPUs.

On the SPC-1 benchmark that established the world record for price-performance, DataCore ran a hyper-converged configuration and certified the results on a powerful but compact 2U Lenovo System x3650 M5 multi-core server featuring Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v3 series processors with a mix of flash SSD and disk storage with overall system costs of only US-$38,400.29.

At CeBIT 2016 (March 14-18), DataCore is represented at the Virtualisation, Security & Storage Forum (Hall 2, Stand A38) and within the Huawei booth (Hall 2, Stand B54). Hi,
Thanks for sharing informative information. Your post is too good. DataCore has partnered with Dell to unify these storage systems with centrally-managed data services. Dell poweredge has teamed with DataCore to merge storage systems with a
common set of data services. Great post. Please keep up sharing...
